Kristaps Priede (dz. 1990) studējis Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijā, ieguvis maģistra grādu Glezniecības (2017) un Tēlniecības (2021) apakšnozarēs. Ieguvis maģistra grādu nozarē Māksla publiskajā sfērā (2020)  Lucernas Lietišķo zinātņu un mākslas universitātē Šveicē. Papildinājis zināšanas arī citviet Šveicē – École de design et haute école d'art du Valais un Lielbritānijā – University of the Arts London: Wimbledon College of Arts un Falmouth University. Piedalās izstādēs kopš 2011. gada. Sarīkojis vairāk kā desmit personālizstādes Latvijā un ārvalstīs – Lielbritānijā, Šveicē, Ķīnā. Piedalījies rezidencēs Šveicē, Islandē, Singapūrā un ASV. Ieguvis vairākus apbalvojumus un godalgas, tostarp “SEB stipendijas glezniecībā” laureāts 2017. gadā, otrā vieta Latvijas Bankas rīkotajā konkursā par novatorisku dizainu Latvijas gada monētai 2018. gadā un otrā vieta konkursā “30 Years of Qeer Community and Research at the Zurich University – Toward a More Colourful Future” 2019. gadā Cīrihē, Šveicē. Šobrīd mākslinieks dzīvo un strādā Rīgā.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

 

Kristaps Priede (born in 1990), studied design and visual-plastic arts in the Art Academy of Latvia, obtained a master's degree in Painting (2017) and Sculpture (2021). Master's degree in Fine Art: Art in Public Spheres (2020) at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland. Studied more in Switzerland - The Valais School of Art (École de design et haute école d'art du Valais) and United Kingdom – University of the Arts London: Wimbledon College of Arts and Falmouth University. Participates in exhibitions since 2011. He has organized thirteen solo exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China and Latvia. Participated in residencies in Indonesia, Switzerland, Iceland, Singapore and the USA. Won several awards and prizes, including the winner of the SEB Scholarship in Painting in 2017, second place in the competition for innovative design for the Latvian coin of the year organized by the Bank of Latvia in 2018, and second place in the art competition “30 Years of Queer Community and Research at the Zurich Universities – Toward a More Colorful Future!” in 2019, Switzerland. Currently, the artist lives and works in Riga, Latvia.
